Stories We Wear
Please join us to experience this unique, wearable exhibition.
Official opening: Saturday 6 Dec, 3pm - 5pm
Exhibition runs: Thurs 4 December - Sun 7 December
This exhibition falls straight off the walls onto your shoulders, championing the beauty of natural fibres, how clothes express our lifestyles and what we value in sustainability.
Textile artist Fiona Howle has also threaded literature into her work, aiming to take the background story to this collection to the fore so the viewer is able to embrace the whole content behind the choices made in creating the clothing. This is slow fashion in every sense of its definition.
Fiona has chosen the organic fibres of silk and wool and applied them just as an artist would take an easel outdoors, sit plein air selecting a view, experiment with palette and textures, and the resulting composition ultimately coming to life on your body.
